grotto’s annual sapphic holiday party is upon us, and you are invited to join! This year we are inspired by the magic that is The Nutcracker, as we’ll be transforming the stylish East Village cocktail bar and neo-bistro, Ella Funt, into the land of queer sugar plum fairies for a night of celebratory revelry.

Dance to a live DJ set while sipping on Nutcracker-inspired grotto cocktails, get tatted by Yink Tattoos, and enjoy an absolutely one-of-a-kind burlesque-meets-ballet-meets-drag performance by Stella Sundari (@PriyaOnStage) —a talented sapphic burlesque performer and classically trained dancer whose first professional show was The Nutcracker at the age of 11. She later went on to write essays about the show in college within the context of gender & queerness, making this an extra special performance. She will be joined by a drag king to play the Nutcracker.

Dress code: Sapphic winter wonderland. Think sugar plum opulence, ballet-core details, toy soldier chic, rat king realness, pearl accents, velvet in deep jewel tones, shimmering tulle, and frostbitten sparkle.
